Why my lips are always dry and cracked?
It is a very common problem as whenever winter comes around, our lips become dry and chapped. There are also other reasons such as dehydration, thyroid disease, vitamin deficiencies, and yeast infection. You can do care of your lips with some simple tricks but before you try anything, you need to know some common causes of dry and chapped lips:
Weather
The damage on your lips can be a result of the weather. Coldness during winter or UV radiations from the sun can affect your lips. Exfoliating treatment once or twice within a weak can help you cleanse the lips and in making lips healthier than before.
Vitamin Deficiency
Vitamin B2 is very important for healthier lips. It is better if you eat Vitamin B2 rich foods such as eggs, lean meat, broccoli, mushrooms, soybeans, whole grain, and green leafy vegetables.
Licking lips
If you have a habit of licking lips then you should avoid this. Repeated saliva on the lips can cause dryness by removing all the natural grease from the lips.
Dehydration
Water is essential for keeping lips moisturize and healthy. Dehydration can cause lowering your mineral level. So, it is recommended to drink 8 to 12 glass a day. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables such as cucumbers, beans, tomatoes, and watermelons.
Yeast infection
A yeast infection can also affect your lips. This infection causes dryness around the corners of the mouth. It occurs because your body is producing too much yeast which results in dry lips.
