Why you should know emotional support dog rights?
An Emotional Support Dog has many rights which you should know to make your life easier. If you are anxious or depressed and you need to keep your emotional support dog with yourself all the time then it is important that you get aware of different ESA rights.
Rights of an emotional support dog:
1. Housing
Under the Federal Fair Housing Act (FHA), you can stay with your dog in pet-restricted houses. You only have to prove two things to the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which are as follows:
- You have a disability i.e. a physical or mental impairment that limits your one or major life activities.
- You also need to prove that you made the request of a disability-related need for an emotional support animal.
2. Airplanes
The Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) governs accommodations for people with disabilities. Individuals who travel with emotional support animals may need to provide an ESA letter or some specific documents to prove that they have a disability and the genuine reason to travel with their emotional support animal.

3. Workplace rights
If you need a company of your emotional support dog in the office because of any disability reason then with the help of documentations which include how an emotional support animal can help you in performing your job tasks, you can get the approval of having ESA accompanying you.
Psychological Disability Service Center can help you in getting awareness about your emotional support animals’ rights. You will also get assistance while registering an emotional support animal with an ESA letter.
